The research can be divided into five main areas :

1. Structure of saccharides, their derivatives and polysaccharides in solution
2. Dynamic properties of saccharides
3. Intermolecular interactions
   • interaction protein-carbohydrate
   • complexes of scacharides with transition metals
4. Relations between saccharide structure and NMR parameters
5. Studies of bacterial metabolism using isotope-labelled substrates
